Payphones and prepaid calls have been replaced by modern communication services.
Starting from January 20, 2026, “Beltelecom” will be decommissioning payphone communication with the associated services “A Convenient Call from a Payphone” and “Incoming Calls to a Payphone”. Prepaid calls (“Intelligent Network Telephone Service”) will be discontinued as well. This step is due to important reasons: outdated technology and lack of technical support, as well as low demand for payphone services and prepaid calls.
Payphone and prepaid services were replaced by affordable fixed and mobile communication, therefore both “Intelligent Network Telephone Service” and payphones have become almost unclaimed. The payphone removal will start on 2026 and will go according to plan.
“Beltelecom” offers its subscribers a wide range of services, including comprehensive solutions incorporating telephone communication. For instance, for individuals, telephone service is included in the “YASNA” service packages under the terms of unlimited calls within “Beltelecom” fixed network. Legal entities can use “Business Case” tariff plans with unlimited calls included within “Beltelecom”network as well.
Starting from December 2025, the implementation of Service Telephone Cards (STK) and Virtual Service Telephone Cards (VSTK) will also be terminated. All subscribers with remaining funds/tariff units on their accounts or cards may contact “Beltelecom” sales offices for refund.

The payphone communication used to have great popularity a few decades ago, by now it has gradually lost its significance. Since the mid-2000s the demand began to decline, the payphones, from which no calls were made during a long time, appeared. That is why starting from 2012 the payphone park has begun to reduce gradually.
