On April 1, 2022, the General Director of RUE Beltelecom Yury Petruchenya and the rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergey Kharitochnik signed a cooperation agreement. The solemn ceremony was held in the BNTU Hall of Fame and was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the educational institution being awarded the status of "national".
The key point of the document is the creation and development of a digital ecosystem in the field of education using the “My University” mobile application as an example. “My University” is an electronic navigator for the services of an educational institution with the possibility of individual administration. Typical modules will be implemented here: “information”, “news”, “online recording”, “chat”, “poll”, etc.
Using the “My University” mobile application, applicants will be able to quickly get acquainted with the course of the admission campaign, students will be able to study the schedule, use the electronic journal, receive assignments from teachers, sign up for courses and online consultations. The survey option will be available for teachers and the possibility of more effective communication with students will be implemented. By the way, the functionality of the application is by no means static, it will expand in the process of testing, taking into account the wishes of users.
Testing of the “My University” platform is scheduled for May. In addition to BNTU, Minsk State Linguistic University, with which RUE Beltelecom previously signed a similar agreement, will also become a pilot zone of the project.
Beltelecom and BNTU are linked by long-term cooperation in the provision of telecommunications services. The joint implementation of the “My University” project is a new stage of partnership that will become an example of digital solutions in the field of education.
