AI-Powered Innovations: Beltelecom Supported Youth Hackathon Participants

On September 30, the large-scale hackathon of the International Telecommunication Union dedicated to the development of innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence, was completed in Minsk. The event was supported by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian State Academy of Telecommunications. Beltelecom was the general partner of the forum and prepared special prizes for the finalists.

The hackathon brought together students and young professionals in IT, design, product management and data analysis. Eighteen teams, each with up to five participants, competed in the finals.

“Beltelecom as a flagship of the telecommunications market is always open to initiatives aimed at supporting talented young people and implementing innovation. Today, AI is no longer a science fiction concept, but a practical tool that changes many familiar areas. We offered the participants two cases – specific tasks, the solution of which is relevant for our company. We enjoyed the presentations and saw many interesting projects that can be integrated into our work in the future,” said Sergey Buinitskiy, Deputy Director General for Digital Development and Information Technology of RUE Beltelecom, “The hackathon is not just a competition, but a unique platform for generating new ideas that will benefit the company, our clients, and society as a whole.”

For two days, the participants worked on real cases from partner organizations, seeking solutions to tasks using artificial intelligence. The experienced expert mentors, ready to assist and offer valuable advice, fostered an atmosphere of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The first place in the case solution for Beltelecom was taken by the team from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The second winner was the team of the Belarusian State University, which developed a project for Wildberries.

We wish all participants that their solutions became the basis for future successful projects!
